| Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation 2025 (Accomplishment) |
At the Modern Dance Club, we are dedicated to nurturing and developing
versatile performers who use dance as a powerful medium for selfexpression.
Our philosophy revolves around empowering students to share
their emotions and personal stories through movement and rhythm. Besides
showcasing their skills to a variety of audiences, they will also be trained to
think critically about artistic works and relate aesthetically and cognitively
to the dance art form. Dancers are also given the opportunity to hone their
leadership skills through various roles and responsibilities. By facilitating
dance trials and training juniors, they not only refine their technical skills
but also develop essential leadership qualities such as communication and
teamwork.
This year, the Modern Dance Club has been on a thrilling journey, showcasing
their passion and talent across various events and competitions. From the
vibrant CCA Open House to the prestigious annual Awards Day, the dancers
have captivated audiences with their emotive performances. This year, the
dancers had an excellent opportunity to deepen their skillsets, gain exposure
and develop holistically by performing in the Singapore Youth Festival
2025 Arts Presentation. Weeks of hard work, determination and resilience
culminated in a striking performance of their evocative piece ‘Beyond The
Darkness’, which left a lasting impression on the audience.
In our CCA, we also believe in taking a blended learning approach to
developing our dancers. We tap on the affordances of technology to
improve dance instruction by providing easy accessibility to a wide variety of
resources for students to extend their learning beyond the confines of the
dance studio. Through combining online materials and traditional classroom
instruction, blended learning ensures that students can reflect on their
performances and refine their skills outside of regular training hours.
With each performance, we strive to move hearts and inspire others through
our dance. As we continue to embrace new opportunities and challenges,
our dancers remain committed to telling stories with their hearts through
movement. Here’s to another year of breaking boundaries, embracing the
art of becoming, and inspiring through dance!
